Hi, and welcome to Sourdough Ho! Before we get any further, I want to be completely upfront about something that might come up as you browse around here: some of the links on this site are affiliate links. Here is what that means, in plain English.

What Are Affiliate Links?

Affiliate links are special tracking links that let companies know when someone clicked through to their site from mine. If you click one of these links and decide to buy something, I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay stays exactly the same whether you use my link or not. The small commission just helps keep this blog running, pays for things like hosting and the occasional fancy bag of bread flour, and gives me more time to test new recipes and share them with you.

Amazon Associates Disclosure

Sourdough Ho is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and its affiliated sites.

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This means that if you click on an Amazon link in one of my posts and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission from Amazon. Again, this does not change the price you pay in any way.

Other Affiliate Programs

In addition to Amazon Associates, I may occasionally participate in other affiliate programs for brands and products I genuinely use and recommend. Any time I link to a product through an affiliate program, that link will follow the same rules: you pay the regular price, and I may earn a small commission if you decide to buy.

How I Choose What to Recommend

This part is important to me, so I want to be very clear about it. I only recommend products that I actually use, have used, or would genuinely buy myself. The fact that I might earn a few cents on a sale does not influence my opinions in the slightest. If a product is mediocre, I will tell you. If something works well, I will share that too. If I am still figuring out whether something is worth it, I will say that as well.

My goal here is to help you bake better bread, troubleshoot starter problems, and feel less alone in your flour-covered kitchen. Recommending products you do not actually need, or that I do not actually believe in, would be the fastest way to lose your trust. I am not interested in doing that.

How Affiliate Links Are Marked

Posts that contain affiliate links will include a clearly visible disclosure near the top, typically right before the product recommendations begin. The disclosure will look something like this:

A few of the links below are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products I actually use and love.

You are never under any obligation to click an affiliate link. If you would rather search for a product directly without using my link, that is completely fine.

Sponsored Content and Gifted Products

Occasionally I may receive products for free in exchange for a review, or work with a brand on sponsored content. Whenever this happens, I will clearly label the post as such, and I will always share my honest opinion. A free product never guarantees a positive review. If I do not like something, I will tell you, and I reserve the right to not publish a review at all if I cannot recommend the product in good conscience.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure exists in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. I take transparency seriously because you deserve to know how this site is funded.
